My older brother was taught certain simple types of calligraphy at\u003cbr\u003eschool, he taught me and as I grew older I kept improving and I've been doing it\u003cbr\u003eever since\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWhat message would you like to send to the world through your art?\u003cbr\u003eA: Several messages; the beauty of calligraphy alone is a big message, it's unique to\u003cbr\u003eour context, and more people should be exposed to it in order to enjoy it. And as the\u003cbr\u003esaying goes \"Calligraphy is embedded within the soul\" so in other words calligraphy\u003cbr\u003ewithin itself is an extension of one's soul and beauty within. It can combine both\u003cbr\u003ehappiness and sadness, and everything in between.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eWhat made the number of calligraphers drop so low in recent years?\u003cbr\u003eA: Technology and some artists growing tired due to the lack of interest from others.\u003cbr\u003eFor example, back in the day everyone had no choice but to turn to calligraphers for\u003cbr\u003ewriting official scripts or to design a logo, but the evolution of technology and\u003cbr\u003ecomputers caused a shortage in opportunities. Hence people leaving it behind, and\u003cbr\u003elearning how to use computer programmes instead.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003eIs there a location where calligraphers gather?\u003cbr\u003eA: There are some, but are generally obscure and unknown. And in my opinion,\u003cbr\u003ecalligraphy is an art best done alone, independently. It's hard to collaborate in\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003edoing a certain project.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWhat are the most endangered types of Arabic Calligraphy?\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eA: Several such as: Moroccan, Qairawan, \u0026amp; some older types we don't practice\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eanymore due to how hard they are, and they look very ancient and unreadable.\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ePeople prefer simpler, more readable types nowadays.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eWhere do you see your future as a calligrapher?\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eA: I aspire to incorporate calligraphy in carpentry, I've always been keen on making\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e3D forms of things we are used to strictly see in 2D form. To me, calligraphy is my\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003esanctuary away from daily troubles. A person can live multiple lives at the same\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003etime, through books, drawing, playing an instrument and the same goes for\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003ecalligraphy.
