The origins of Warli art go back thousands of years, and it is believed that their art is some of the closest examples to ancient cave paintings we can see in the modern day. Traditionally the Warli tribe lived in huts characterized by walls made from bamboo poles lined up and plastered with mud and cow dung. Once the walls hardened, designs would be painted on during auspicious events.
